Dr. Snider is an experienced behavioral pharmacologist in the field of substance use disorder and decision-making. She has led BEAM through the successful execution of NIH-and-regionally-funded small business technology transfer grant projects and the validation and commercialization of Beacon and its assessment modules.

CHIEF BUSINESS OFFICER

Alex Brown drives growth at BEAM through operations strategy, risk management, and developing third-party relationships. Working alongside the technology, research, and marketing leads, he develops cohesive strategies for achieving operational objectives and growth targets. He works closely with client and partner relationships to maximize quality and enable client-centered services.

CHIEF INNOVATION OFFICER

Dr. Brown has extensive experience using multi-scale data to analyze biological phenomena and project management within the health analytics setting, including work on drug development and understanding the opioid epidemic. As lead technology strategist, she translates BEAM’s research findings into interoperable technology solutions.

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

As an engineer with almost two decades in the software industry, Dave Sroka is an expert at building and maintaining enterprise platforms and designing and engineering start-up solutions. With his wealth of experience delivering robust, secure, and scalable products, he’ll oversee the implementation strategy for and maintenance of BEAM and its innovative technologies.

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

With a decade of experience in the fields of PR, marketing, and advertising, Sarah Lutz uses her expertise to develop BEAM’s integrated marketing and communications strategies, including brand development and management, customer experience, and digital communications. She also aids in business development and technology strategy through client communications, market impact, product development and management, and user experience.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Nathan Sudduth is a software engineer and graduate student of Computer Science at NC State University. As an engineer proficient in full-stack application development and solving software problems, he manages the design, implementation, and maintenance of BEAM's technologies.

SENIOR SCIENTIFIC ADVISOR & CO-FOUNDER

As Director for the Addiction Recovery Research Center at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC, Dr. Bickel has over 25 years of experience in the area of substance use and decision-making research. His advisor role includes Beacon design and iteration optimization, findings interpretation, and future research conceptualization.

SENIOR SCIENTIFIC ADVISOR & CO-FOUNDER

As an expert in behavioral science and a practicing clinical psychologist, Dr. MacKillop provides a clinical perspective to the iteration and optimization of Beacon. His advisor role focuses on assessment design, clinical education material development, research methods, interpretation of findings, and visions for future research.
